Location: Worcestershire

Rate: Up to £675-725/day (inside)

Contract: initial 6 months

Overview

We are looking for an experienced Programme Manager to lead a complex business and technology transformation programme. This role requires hands-on delivery management, the ability to stabilise a challenging programme, and strong leadership across both internal teams and external suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of an in-flight transformation programme, identifying and addressing existing delivery challenges.
  • Stabilise and realign programme delivery, ensuring clear plans, priorities, and stakeholder confidence.
  • Manage offshore and third-party suppliers, ensuring delivery commitments are met.
  • Build and strengthen the delivery team, identifying resourcing needs and securing the necessary capabilities.
  • Translate business challenges into clear business cases and delivery objectives.
  • Maintain robust governance frameworks to ensure compliance, transparency, and control throughout delivery.
  • Provide hands-on leadership, driving delivery while engaging with the detail where necessary ("in the weeds").
  • Support and upskill permanent staff, sharing knowledge and building internal delivery capability.
  • Manage multiple parallel workstreams with interdependent deliverables.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulations, and relevant external requirements.

Required Experience

  • Proven track record of successfully delivering complex transformation programmes.
  • Experience stabilising and recovering programmes facing delivery challenges.
  • Strong governance, stakeholder management, and risk management capabilities.
  • Experience managing offshore suppliers and multi-vendor delivery models.
  • Ability to balance strategic oversight with hands-on involvement where needed.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to produce clear, concise updates for senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in mentoring and developing internal teams.

Desirable Experience

  • Exposure to systems and process transformation in areas such as operations, real estate, or field services.
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks and governance standards.
