Programme Manager - 6 Month contract - Hybrid working in Central London

Outside IR35

The Role

As Programme Manager, you will operate as the "eyes and ears on the ground" for the Programme Director and Senior Responsible Owner, providing day-to-day oversight of delivery and ensuring all workstreams remain aligned and moving at pace.

You will:

  • Oversee the coordinated delivery of a £150m+ capital programme, acting as the key interface between workstream leads and senior leadership
  • Work closely with estates teams, construction contractors and other internal departments
  • Ensure workstreams are joined up, dependencies are managed and issues are resolved proactively
  • Identify, manage and escalate risks and issues appropriately, providing clear, timely insight to the Programme Director
  • Maintain momentum, challenge where needed and drive delivery across a complex stakeholder environment
  • Represent the "business" perspective, ensuring organisational interests remain central to decision-making

This role reports directly into the Programme Director, with visibility and engagement at SRO level throughout the lifecycle of the programme.

About You

You will be a confident, delivery-driven Programme Manager with experience operating in large, complex programme environments and the credibility to work with senior leaders and diverse stakeholder groups.

Key experience required:

  • Proven delivery experience on large-scale programmes (£150m+)
  • Strong track record of working with senior leaders, including influencing, negotiating and gaining agreement
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complexity and maintain engagement
  • Sound judgement, with the confidence to escalate appropriately and resolve issues where possible
  • Highly proactive, organised and able to drive work forward at pace

Experience working on capital or estates programmes is highly desirable, though not essential. More important is your ability to represent the business interest, operate independently and provide assurance at a senior level.

Why Apply?
