TREE-A: how we are minimising our carbon footprint

Date Posted: Friday, 11th March 2022

Every company has a carbon footprint. And if each of us adopted an approach that looked at how we can work towards minimising our own, we would all be working towards solving our global problem. At TRIA, we are serious about sustainability. And to make sure we are helping real-world change, we decided we needed to contribute to a cause that makes real-world impact. And to demonstrate this, Team TRIA is partnering with Trees for the Future (TREES).

For communities, by communities, in communities.

We are committed to actions that reduce the impact we have on the environment. And we quickly realised that if we wanted to improve the health of the planet, we needed to improve life conditions for all of us who inhabit it. TREES are a 30-year-old not-for-profit organisation who operate in farming communities across Africa’s Green Belt confront, who work to tackle hunger, poverty, and environmental degradation. All by serving the people at the heart of our global food systems: farmers and their families. Together with the United Nations Decade on Ecosystem Restoration, TREES have a goal to plant 1 billion trees with 250,000 farmers by 2030. (Head here to see how TRIA has contributed so far 👉 TRIA & TREES) A special element of partnering with TREES is that we are ensuring that positive changes are made to both our planet, as well as work done to train farming families, equipping them in agroforestry and land management for lasting impact. And by embracing sustainable land practices; farmers can reclaim their agency, breaking the cycles of climate change and generational poverty and rebuilding the systems that support their community from the ground up. You can read the latest impact report from TREES here to learn more about the incredible work that they do. And if you’d like to learn more about the TREES organisation, or how you could get involved with furthering their cause, you can find their website here.
