Network Engineer – Cisco, Juniper

Location: Fully Remote
Contract Length: Initial 6+ months
Rate: Up to £325 per day (Inside IR35, DOE)

Overview

We are seeking a highly capable and proactive Network Engineer to support a Managed Services Operations Centre (MSOC). This role is critical in maintaining and enhancing customer network environments, acting as a senior technical escalation point, and ensuring the consistent delivery of high‑quality managed services.

You will work across a diverse customer base, supporting modern enterprise networking technologies including Juniper Mist, Aruba, Cisco, and leading firewall platforms, while contributing to service excellence and continuous improvement within a 24×7 managed services environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 2nd/3rd line Network support and act as the final technical escalation point within the MSOC
  • Ensure the stability, performance, and availability of customer network environments
  • Manage incidents, changes, and service requests in line with ITIL processes and SLA commitments
  • Lead the investigation and resolution of complex networking and infrastructure issues
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation and ticket updates within ServiceNow
  • Participate in a 24×7 on-call rota as required

Technical Environment

  • Networking: Juniper (Mist), Aruba, Cisco – switching and wireless
  • Firewalls: Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco, Check Point
  • NAC: Cisco ISE, Aruba ClearPass
  • Core Services: DNS, DHCP, VLANs, certificates
  • Virtualisation: VMware ESXi
  • ITSM: ServiceNow

Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven capability delivering senior-level (2nd/3rd line) network support
  • CCNP and/or Juniper network qualifications
  • Excellent troubleshooting, diagnostic, and analytical skills
  • Confident customer-facing communication and stakeholder engagement
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities
