Data Engineer

£60,000-£75,000

London – 3 days per week in the office

This is a well-established, multinational consumer goods business operating across the UK and European markets, with a sizeable data and analytics function. They are looking for an Analytics Engineer to join a small, collaborative data team, working closely with analysts and business stakeholders to curate, model, and deliver high-quality data for analytical consumption.

The Data Engineer sits at the intersection of data engineering and business analysis. You will be responsible for data modelling, transformation, and pipeline development, primarily focused on UK customer and e-commerce data. Working under the guidance of the Lead Analytics Engineer you will work on end-to-end Data projects delivering capabilities for BI, insights and analytics.

We are looking for:

  • Solid SQL skills and proficiency in Python, with strong expereince in ETL/ELT
  • Experience in an analytics engineering or data engineering role, with an understanding of how to curate and model data for analytical use
  • Exposure to modern cloud data warehouse solutions (Snowflake, Redshift, Databricks, or similar)
  • Some exposure to BI or analytics teams, with an appreciation for what downstream analysts need from data
  • Strong communication skills and the business acumen to translate business logic into data solutions

It would be a bonus if you have:

  • Experience with Matillion, dbt, or similar ELT/ETL transformation tools
  • Familiarity with CRM or e-commerce data
  • Experience working directly with business stakeholders or in a BA-adjacent capacity
