System Engineer

Senior Systems Engineer – Workplace technology

£44,000 – £50,000 depending on experience, plus bonus & benefits

Hybrid – 3 days onsite in Cheltenham

We’re seeking an enthusiastic, hands-on Systems Engineer to join the successful global Workplace Technology team at a leading software company.

Thriving in a Microsoft-centric environment, you’ll take ownership of projects, solve complex problems, and champion continuous improvement.

What you’ll be doing

• Managing and improving the infrastructure across servers, virtualisation, networking, and cloud platforms.
• Leading major infrastructure projects, including a planned migration away from VMware and the modernisation of data centres.
• Supporting and enhancing email security and delivery, including Proofpoint, DMARC, MX records, and end-to-end mail flow.
• Building and maintaining enterprise-grade server, storage, and virtual environments.
• Producing clear technical documentation and sharing knowledge across the business.

What we’re looking for

• Strong infrastructure and virtualisation experience
• Knowledge of VMware and Hyper-V
• Understanding of email delivery, DMARC, MX records and mail security
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Self-starter with a proactive, “can-do” approach
• Someone who enjoys proposing new ideas and improving how things are done

Key technologies you will be using

Microsoft Servers, Active Directory & Group Policy, Entra ID, Intune & Azure, VMware vSphere (ESXi) & Hyper-V , SQL Server , Proofpoint, Google Workspace (GSuite) & Microsoft 365 , OKTA (SSO & MFA) , Citrix , Veeam Backup , Storage platforms, SAN switches & Dell server infrastructure , Jira & Confluence , FTP and hosted environments.
